Little Sparkle and Her Soft Lullaby

High up in the sky, a tiny star named Sparkle twinkled softly. She was so small, her light was gentle and quiet. She sang a little song: "Twinkle, twinkle, close your eyes."

One evening, Sparkle looked down and saw a little girl in a window who was crying. "Why are you sad?" Sparkle whispered, but the girl couldn't hear. So Sparkle sang her softest lullaby: "Twinkle, twinkle, close your eyes. Twinkle, twinkle, fall asleep." She blinked slowly—on and off, on and off.

The girl looked outside, saw the star, and smiled. She stopped crying. Sparkle kept blinking softly for her. The girl's eyes grew heavy. She yawned, hugged her teddy bear, and fell fast asleep.

Sparkle felt so happy. She looked around and saw another lit window—a boy who couldn't sleep. She floated over and sang her song: "Twinkle, twinkle, close your eyes." The boy saw her, calmed down, and drifted off.

Then Sparkle found a third window, and a fourth. Everywhere, children were awake. She flew from window to window, singing her soft song and blinking her gentle light. One by one, the children closed their eyes. They smiled in their sleep, dreaming happy dreams.

When all the children were asleep, Sparkle returned to her spot in the sky. She was tired too. She blinked very slowly and whispered, "Twinkle, twinkle." Then she closed her eyes.

The sky grew quiet. Only the moon smiled, watching the tiny star who had helped so many children. Sparkle slept, and the children dreamed of a kind star singing a soft lullaby.

Twinkle, twinkle. Good night.
