In a beautiful flower garden lived a little fairy named Zorynka. She had sparkling blue wings and a golden magic wand. Every day, Zorynka would wave her wand — and flowers would bloom, butterflies would dance, and gentle rain would water the beds.
One morning, Zorynka woke up and couldn’t find her wand. She searched under leaves, between petals, by the little stream — nowhere!
“Oh dear!” said Zorynka sadly. “How will I help anyone now?”
She sat on a daisy and almost began to cry. Suddenly, she heard a tiny voice: “Please help me!”
It was a little bee named Dzyzha. She was tangled in a spiderweb.
“But I don’t have my wand,” whispered Zorynka.
“You have hands!” said Dzyzha.
Carefully, Zorynka pulled the web apart with her tiny fingers. Dzyzha buzzed away happily.
A moment later, a bunny named Vukhan ran up. “Zorynka, my babies are thirsty, but the bucket fell into the well!”
“I can’t do anything without my wand,” sighed the fairy.
“You don’t need to know how,” smiled Vukhan. “Just try!”
Zorynka grabbed the rope and pulled. One, two, three — up came the bucket! The little bunnies drank and began to hop.
Then a butterfly named Barviy flew over. “Zorynka, my flowers are wilting without water!”
The fairy thought. She found a big leaf, filled it with water from the stream, and carried it to the flowers. It was a little heavy, but she did it! The flowers lifted their heads and glowed.
That evening, all the garden creatures gathered around Zorynka.
“Thank you!” they said.
“But I didn’t do any real magic,” said the fairy, surprised.
“You did the best magic!” buzzed Dzyzha. “You helped us with your hands and heart.”
Then something sparkled on the grass. It was the golden wand! Zorynka picked it up and smiled. The wand felt very light in her hand now.
Then the fairy flew home. The moon shone through the leaves, and the garden was calm and warm. Zorynka placed the wand by her little bed and closed her eyes. She dreamed of holding a tiny bee’s hand, and both of them laughing together.
